Today (Sunday) the summer vacation of 1,687,000 elementary school and kindergarten students began. These students join the 816,000 middle and high school students who went on summer vacation last week. In addition, 214,000 teaching staff also went on summer vacation.
Today will also start the summer program of the Ministry of Education “School for the Great Vacation” intended for students of grades 1-3 and kindergarten children. The summary of the registration data shows that about 81% of all kindergarten children and school students in grades 1-3, which is over 807,812 male and female students, were enrolled in the program. About 80% of the teachers and kindergarten teachers will take part in the program.
Most of the registrants are found among kindergarten children: 83% of kindergarten children compared to 79% of elementary school students.
The Ministry of Education operates the program with the aim of creating an educational continuum for the students even during the summer vacation in academic, social and emotional aspects, as well as to increase the protection of the students during the vacation period and make it easier for the parents.
