The latest upgrades also boost the Gemini AI’s capabilities, allowing analysts and other users to quickly extract information by simply asking questions of the model. This functionality has broad implications across various sectors. A water company, for instance, could utilize the system to identify areas where rivers have recently dried up, triggering alerts about potential dust storms and enabling proactive community notifications. Similarly, the platform can detect harmful algae blooms, allowing authorities to monitor drinking water supplies and issue timely warnings or implement necessary shutdowns.
Interested organizations can now apply to become “Trusted Testers” on Google Cloud, gaining direct access to the new Earth AI Imagery, Population, and Environment models and their associated tools. Businesses can also integrate their own data with Google’s models, tailoring the platform to address specific challenges in areas like environmental monitoring and disaster response.
