Users can also opt in to Screen-aware reasoning,
which allows Gemini to examine active windows, highlight text, and execute commands like summarizing notes directly inside an open document or email. In demonstration material provided by the company, a user directed the assistant to parse an entire local folder containing dietary rules, restaurant menus, and company policy documents simultaneously. Without opening individual files, the assistant checked the parameters against a budget constraint and drafted an email highlighting recommended options.

This folder-wide multi-file synthesis stands out because competing tools like ChatGPT Desktop typically output text only into a floating window, requiring users to manually copy and paste results into their applications.
Apple Expands Siri and Integrates OpenAI While Partnering With Google
Apple’s deployment of artificial intelligence relies on a dual strategy of on-device processing and cloud infrastructure.
