Anastasia Gurbanko (Mina Xapoglo, ISL)
The grand final of the International Swimming League ISL opens tonight (Friday) in Eindhoven, with the participation of Israeli swimmer Anastasia Gurbanko and her team Los Angeles Carnet. The 18-year-old Israeli jumped to one personal ointment, 200 personal mixed, in which she finished fourth in a time of 2: 07.14 minutes.
In addition, Gorbanko jumped on the first day of competitions to two messenger anointings for her team – in the 4×100 freestyle she finished fourth with an intermediate time of 53.31 seconds, and in the mixed 4×100 she swam the butterfly in a time of 58.20 seconds, en route to her team’s sixth place (Group B).
Tonight, American swimmer Kelsey Dalia, who swims for the Cali Condors team, broke the world record in the 100 butterfly, with 54.59 seconds. This is an improvement of two hundredths to the peak of the Swedish Sarah Shostrum, who swam alongside her in the same ointment.
At the end of the first day of competitions, Energy Standard leads the team rankings by a small margin over Kali Condors, after a drama in the mixed mission ointment, in which Olympic champion Lily King of the Condors was disqualified. Los Angeles is ranked fourth so far, just behind the London Roar.
