Gosung-gun is opening the Gosung Galmobong Natural Recreation Forest, filled with the scent of cypress. Gosung-gun (Governor Lee Sang-geun) held an opening ceremony for the Gosung Galmobong Natural Recreation Forest in Idang-ri, Gosung-eup on July 3.
The opening ceremony was attended by about 30 people including Goseong County Mayor Lee Sang-geun, Goseong County Council Chairman Choi Eul-seok, Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Council Member Heo Dong-won, Goseong County Council Member, and Gyeongsangnam-do Forestry and Recreation Division Director.
The opening ceremony was held in the following order: introduction of guests, opening ceremony, progress report, greetings, congratulatory remarks, congratulatory address, tape cutting, and commemorative photo.
Gosung Galmobong Natural Recreation Forest was designated by the Korea Forest Service in June 2018 and began its development project. It secured a total project cost of KRW 5 billion (KRW 2.5 billion from the national government, KRW 750 million from the provincial government, and KRW 1.75 billion from the county) and completed construction of △1 Visitor Information Center, △1 Forest Green Library (cafe), and △7 Forest Green Houses (houses in the forest) in October of last year.
The Forest Green House will initially operate only 3 buildings (4-person rooms) considering the convenience of users, such as noise from the new construction, and once the project is completed, it plans to add 7 buildings and comprehensively operate a total of 14 buildings.
The visitor information center has an agricultural and marine products exhibition hall linked to the Dinosaur Kingdom Shopping Mall, so you can see the products in the exhibition hall in person and if there is something you would like to buy, you can order it right away by phone or online and have it conveniently delivered to your home with free shipping.
The Forest Green Library consists of the 1st floor, 2nd floor, and rooftop. You can easily order drinks at the unmanned cafe on the 1st floor, and go up to the 2nd floor or rooftop to enjoy the view of Jaran Bay while reading a book or having a drink.
Lee Sang-geun, the governor of Goseong County, said, “I believe that the creation of the first recreational forest in Goseong will provide a pleasant forest environment and a comfortable resting space not only for the county residents but also for many vacationers,” and added, “I will work hard to make Galmobong Natural Recreation Forest a representative place of Goseong in the future.”
