Mookandi (age 30) is the son of Thangaiya from Sokkanathanputhur near Chethur in Virudhunagar district. He came to work as a mason. He is survived by his wife and 2 children. He had left work in Kadayanallur the day before yesterday and was returning to Sokkanathanputhur on a motorcycle with his friend Arunachalam. The motorcycle driven by Abu from Vasudevanallur collided head-on with a vehicle on the Navwa Road near Puliyangudi. Mookandi was killed on the spot. Puliyangudi police arrived at the scene after receiving the information. Mookandi’s body was seized and sent to the Puliyangudi Government Hospital for autopsy. A case has been registered in this regard and an investigation is underway.
