New Delhi: After 29 Naxalites were killed in an encounter with BSF and DRG on April 16 in Kanker district of Chhattisgarh, a large number of Naxalites may now surrender. This surrender is expected to happen in a few days. This surrender of Naxalites can happen from some other Naxalite affected areas including Narayanpur, Kanker and Dantewada. Information received from intelligence sources has revealed that on April 16, security forces had surrounded Naxalites in Abujhmad hill area of Kanker district. 29 Naxalites were killed in this encounter. Among them, top Naxal commander and Pratappur Area Committee chief Shankar Rao, one of the top Naxalites Lalita Madvi and Vinod Gawde were also killed. Sources said that all the killed Naxalites have been identified. After this it was found out that not only Shankar and Lalita but many other Naxalites had a reward of lakhs of rupees declared. In this way, a reward of Rs 1 crore 86 lakh was declared on about 10 Naxalites. Sources say that after the record number of Naxalites killed during the Lok Sabha elections, there is also a danger of their other group creating disturbances in the upcoming elections. In this, some Naxalites may attack with weapons with the intention of taking revenge.
The security forces are fully prepared to give a befitting reply to any such threat. It is also believed that after killing such a large number of Naxalites, their backs are badly broken. Now the Naxalites will have to think about uniting and putting their lives at stake while taking on the security forces. The government is determined to free the Naxalite affected areas from them.
