In light of this situation, Velásquez announced a military offensive against the structures and blocs that will no longer be subject to the ceasefire. “The order given to the Military Forces is to advance offensive operations against those organizations, those blocs and fronts that have distanced themselves from the generous offer of peace that the national Government continued to maintain,” added the minister.

The commander of the Armed Forces, Admiral Francisco Cubides, supported the decision, stating that, with the end of the ceasefire with the most belligerent faction of the EMC, offensive operations will be immediate at a national level. “We know their location and we will advance offensive operations against all the mentioned structures,” Cubides said.
