Government Council: adoption of a draft decree relating to energy efficiency concerning energy service companies
Rabat – The Government Council approved, on Thursday, draft decree No. 2.24.153 implementing the provisions of Law No. 47.09 relating to energy efficiency with regard to energy service companies, taking into account observations raised.
Presented by the Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, Leila Benali, this project is part of the National Energy Strategy developed in accordance with the High Directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, and which establishes energy efficiency as a national priority, indicated the Minister Delegate in charge of Relations with Parliament, government spokesperson, Mustapha Baitas, during a press briefing following the Council.
The draft of this decree also intervenes in application of the provisions of article seven of chapter II of law n° 47.09 relating to energy efficiency, setting the specifications of energy service companies, as well as the conditions and provisions to follow to create and carry out activities of energy service companies, added Mr. Baitas.
