Government Council: Mr. Benmoussa highlights the multiple measures taken to make the current school year a success
Rabat – Several measures and measures have been adopted to ensure the success of the current school year, which effectively began on Monday September 9, all cycles and school levels combined, in all educational establishments, the Minister indicated on Thursday of National Education, Preschool and Sports, Chakib Benmoussa during a presentation presented to the Governing Council.
During this presentation on the new developments for the start of the school year, Mr. Benmoussa specified that 8,112,000 students returned to their schools during this start of the school year, in addition to nearly 984,000 preschool children, indicated the Minister Delegate in charge of Relations with Parliament, government spokesperson, Mustapha Baitas, during a press briefing following the Council.
The minister also addressed the main reform projects carried out by the ministry as part of the implementation of the 2022-2026 Roadmap, noting that the current school year, placed under the theme “For a quality public school for all”, is marked by the extension of the “pioneer schools” project for the primary cycle, which will amount to 2,626, in addition to the launch of the “pioneer college” model with a total of 232 middle schools.
The ministry is working for the generalization of preschool education and the improvement of its quality, as well as the promotion of the teaching of the Amazigh language and the English language, he noted.
Mr. Benmoussa also indicated that the current school year will see an expansion of the school offering and the limitation of class crowding, emphasizing the particular attention given to social support services, given their contribution to encouraging schooling, improving academic performance and combating school dropout.
