The agency assured that they are monitoring the distributor’s work on the ground and in its offices in order to verify how the recovery work is being carried out. In this regard, they announced that the company met the goal imposed by the Executive, which established that they had to reestablish 14 thousand clients.

Nevertheless, Minister Pardow said: “The expiration process continues until the last customer of this company is replenished.“.

He added: “Now a new target has been set, which we hope will be met before midnight next Tuesday, in order to put an end to the number of families still without supplies.”

According to SEC data as of 11:18 a.m., there are 17,548 homes without electricity in RM. Among them, the commune of Lampa is the most affected with 6,446 customers without electricity.

The formulation of charges against electricity distributors for prolonged power outages

For her part, SEC Superintendent Marta Cabeza stated that “The company is obliged to meet this new goalwith which we hope to close this event, which has caused so much harm among families in the Metropolitan Region.”

Regarding the formulations of charges to the electric distributors, the SEC reported that they formulated four charges to Enel (RM) and three to CGE (1 in RM and 2 in O’Higgins)In addition, it has also taken action against the companies Coelcha, Saesa, Frontel, Coopelan and Codiner for their work in the regions of Ñuble, Biobío and Araucanía.

In closing, the supervisory body insisted that the process of expiry of Enel’s contract will continue at the request stage, and therefore called on the company to comply with the request so as not to advance to the adversarial stage.
