In a statement to the press following a meeting of the steering committee of the National Drinking Water Supply and Irrigation Program 2020-2027, Mr. Akhannouch stressed that this meeting comes after the important Speech addressed by HM King Mohammed VI to the Nation on the occasion of the Throne Day, focusing in particular on the water issue following more than six consecutive years of drought, in particular the aspect linked to investment.
“Today’s meeting was an opportunity to review all the projects included in the program, to define their priorities and order of execution, and to establish the timetable for their implementation,” he said, adding: “each project must have a timetable that sets its beginning and end.”
“We have clearly understood the message contained in the Royal Speech, which underlines the need to accelerate the implementation of projects, to ensure efficiency and governance, and to respect the timetable for implementing investments in the months and years to come,” said the Head of Government.
In this context, he announced that periodic meetings will be held, under his chairmanship as Head of Government, in the presence of ministers, the aim being to enable them to work, each in their sector, to accelerate the pace of investments and implement them within the allotted time.
