He Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and the National Innovation Company (Enisa) have come together to endow the ‘Agroinnpulso’ line with an additional 16 million euros, intended to finance innovative digital projects in SMEs throughout the agri-food chain and associated sectors.

As detailed by the Ministry, of the 16 million euros, 10 million come from the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan and the other six million euros more from the General State Budgets (PGE).

With the signing of this third agreement, one of the objectives linked to the fifth disbursement of European funds is met and it is possible to endow the ‘Agroinpulso’ financing line with an accumulated amount of 39 million.

The financial instrument that Enisa offers is the participatory loan, with amounts ranging between 25,000 euros and 1.5 million. This type of loan, halfway between a traditional credit and venture capital, does not require endorsements or guarantees, only that of the business project itself and a solvent management team. The loans have long grace and amortization periods.

In this agreement, the differential applied to the fixed tranche of interest has been reduced so that the financing of the line continues to be attractive in a context of an increase in the Euribor. Addendums to the two previous agreements are scheduled to be signed next to give SMEs with an already formalized loan the option of taking advantage of this lower interest rate.

Until now, the average credit granted in the ‘Agroinnpulso’ line is 182,000 euros, with an average of four jobs created. For every euro borrowed, two euros of additional private financing are provided.

This action is part of the II Action Plan 2021-2023 of the Strategy for the Digitization of the Agri-Food Sector and the Rural Environment, which seeks to stimulate business development and new business models. Enisa, a public entity attached to the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, has granted more than 8,200 loans to more than 7,200 companies, for an amount of more than 1,260 million euros invested.
