CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu government has announced a significant increase in the allowance for government employees, raising it from 42 percent to 46 percent. This decision, made by Chief Minister Stalin, aims to fulfill the government’s promises and support the welfare of government officials and teachers.

Despite facing a severe financial crisis and debt burden left by the previous administration, the current government is committed to gradually meeting the demands of government employees and teachers. To demonstrate this commitment, the Tamil Nadu government will also be increasing the concessional fare for central government employees.

Starting from July 1, the subsidy will be raised from the current 42 percent to 46 percent, benefiting approximately 16 lakh government employees, teachers, pensioners, and family pensioners. This increase in allowance will cost the government around 2,546 crores per annum.

Dr. Amrit Kumar, the State President of the Government Servants Union, expressed his satisfaction with the government’s decision. He emphasized that this announcement will serve as a motivation for government officials and teachers to continue their hard work. He extended his gratitude to Chief Minister Stalin on behalf of the association.

The announcement of this unprecedented hike in allowances has brought joy to the public. It is expected to further encourage and inspire government employees and teachers to perform their duties with dedication and enthusiasm.
