The president Claudia Sheinbaum He said that he seeks to create value chains in the production of lithium and copper for the construction of electric cars in the country.

In her morning conference this Friday, the president commented that there are several projects for the case of lithiumone of them has to do with the creation of production chains for this metal, although he clarified that it is long-term.

For now, Sheinbaum added, the technology for the extraction of lithium in clay has already been developed in the country, which is the condition in which most of this element is found in national territory.

The technology already exists, but you have to know how much it costs and how to develop it”, he commented.

As another project related to the production of electric cars, Sheinbaum He commented that it is planned to make production chains for copper, since this metal, in an electric vehicle, has three times more than in a conventional one.

To make the production of national electric cars, he said that the intention is to create a compact model, similar to those manufactured in China and the India.

The aim, he said, is to make this car an alternative to the motorcycle, since there are already companies in the country that manufacture electric motors.

“The idea is to use this company and bring them together to make this electric car and generate production chains so that everything that uses that car is manufactured in Mexico. There are already several prototypes and they will be presented at the conference“, said.
