SÃO PAULO (Reuters) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced this Sunday that the government plans to repatriate Brazilians who are in Israel and Palestine, according to a press release.
The day before, Itamaraty stated that there are 14 thousand Brazilians who live in Israel and 6 thousand in Palestine.
Air Force flights will be intended primarily “to repatriate Brazilians residing in Brazil”, said the ministry, without saying when the first take-off will take place given “uncertainties” about the situation in the region.
“It is recommended that all nationals who have airline tickets, or who are able to purchase them, board available commercial flights from Ben-Gurion airport, which continues to operate,” stated the ministry.
Regarding Brazilians in Palestine, the federal government seeks to facilitate the necessary conditions that allow the implementation of an evacuation plan for those who want to leave the Gaza Strip or the West Bank.
