The Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining (MIEM) today announced a change in fuel prices as of January 1, 2024. The good news is that Super 95 gasoline will remain stable, maintaining its maximum price of $75, 54 per liter.

The novelty lies in the adjustment of Gasoil 50S, which will experience a reduction of two pesos, reaching $55.39 per liter as the maximum price at the pump. This decision by the Executive Branch seeks to provide financial relief for users of this type of fuel.

As for supergas, consumers will not see changes in their pockets, since the price will remain at $76.75. This means that the cost of refilling a 13 kilo bottle will remain at $997.75, thus preserving stability in access to this essential service.

“The Executive Branch will continue to pay attention to international fluctuations in energy prices, with the aim of minimizing the impact of these variations on national economic activity and the cost of living of Uruguayans,” indicates the MIEM statement.

In recent days, it had been speculated that fuel prices were going to decline, but in the end the executive resolution was different. On the other hand, Antel, OSE and UTE rates will increase in January 2024.
