Government Schools Need Funds Not Funds Management – Narayanan Tirupati on ‘Namma School Foundation’ Project | Narayanan Tirupathy on Namma School Foundation project

Chennai: Tamil Nadu BJP State Vice President Narayanan Tirupathi has said that what government schools need is not funds but financial management.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin yesterday launched the ‘Namma School Foundation’ project to improve government schools in Tamil Nadu. The project ‘Namma School Foundation’ has been launched as a project to improve government schools with private participation. Chief Minister Stalin announced Rs 5 lakh from his own funds for this project.

In this regard, Tamil Nadu BJP State Vice President Narayanan Tirupathi has issued a statement: “Yesterday Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin launched a project called ‘Namma School Foundation’ with the slogan of providing financial assistance to raise the quality of government schools. He has said that this fund will be used for improvement and while appreciating and welcoming the appointment of Venu Srinivasan as the president of this foundation and Viswanathan Anand as the ambassador, the chief minister should realize that the reason for the decline in the quality of government schools so far is not the lack of funds but the lack of financial management.

Can it be denied that the current substandard education is not only due to the lack of facilities for school students, but also because their facilities are denied due to administrative malpractice? Can it be denied that the teachers working in government schools are paid many times more than the teachers working in private schools but quality education is not reaching the students? This is not due to lack of funds, but due to the financial exploitation of the state rulers, the nation will be aware of the fact. Is it true that the crores spent till now on the infrastructure of government schools have been looted by corrupt government officials and rulers through corruption or not?

Conscientious educators have realized that if there was no corruption, if malpractices were prevented, the structure of government schools would be stronger or not. Are various employees including government school teachers being bribed for their work or not? Bribery for job transfers, corruption and bribery in all procurement of government schools are rampant or not? Years have passed since the education sector became a corrupt sector. Tamilnadu government schools today’s need is corruption-free and malpractice-free administration, not just funds.

In the last 30 years, Tamil Nadu’s politicians and the officials who supported it, have caused the deterioration of government schools and turned education into a business. Although the Chief Minister’s statement today is attractive, government schools will be reformed and improved only if bribery, corruption and malpractices are prevented and the government’s financial management is in place. Otherwise, even if the funds come in, they will continue to flow out through the loopholes in the corrupt system. Will Chief Minister M.K.Stali realize the nature of the disorder and act?” he said.
