Colombo, Feb 14: Opposition leader and United People’s Alliance leader Sajith Premadasa has accused the Sri Lankan government of mismanaging the Employees Provident Fund.

He added, “The government has launched a game of one lakh programs to create an opportunity for money laundering.

This is why it has also joined the Employees Provident Fund. The United People’s Power will never allow this vicious cycle to continue.

The country currently has only $ 600-800 million in reserves and this will only be enough to cover the cost of imports for the next 3 weeks.

The Sri Lankan government has provided a small amount of relief to millions of farmers affected by misguided agricultural policies.

However, he said that when the United People’s Power government is formed, high quality fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides will be provided to the farmers.
