BRASILIA (Reuters) – The Minister of Management, Esther Dweck, said on Tuesday that the government expects to reinforce taxation on assets and change the way income is taxed in the next stages of the tax reform, after the processing of the text that targets consumption taxes.
According to Dweck, the current model of taxation on wealth and income needs to be revised as it greatly benefits the richest.
Speaking at the 1st Seminar “Assessment and Improvement of Public Spending”, the minister also said that the government expects the new fiscal framework to be approved by Congress this week.
