Government works to regulate the right to strike through responsible dialogue with unions (Baitas)

Rabat – The government is working to regulate the right to strike on the regulatory and legal levels within the framework of a serious, responsible and participatory dialogue with the unions, affirmed, Thursday in Rabat, the Minister Delegate in charge of Relations with Parliament, government spokesperson, Mustapha Baitas.

In response to a question on the draft law on the right to strike during a press briefing following the Government Council, Mr. Baitas said that after the presentation of draft organic law No. 97.15 defining the conditions and modalities for exercising the right to strike, it will be discussed today in order to move forward with this participatory approach and to listen to the different opinions within Parliament.

After recalling that the organic law relating to the conditions and modalities of exercising the right to strike appears at the top of the legal texts provided for by the 2011 Constitution, Mr. Baitas affirmed that this project is part of the reform projects on which the government is working.

He also considered that the institutionalization of social dialogue by the government aims to debate fundamental and important issues and to take into account the demands of the unions which concern, first and foremost, the working class and its working conditions.
