The Government of India is working on Artificial Intelligence. Different types of decisions are being taken regarding this. For this, Graphic Processing Units (GPUs) are also being prepared before preparing the data center. But many decisions are yet to be taken in this. Because China and America have emerged as key players in the AI market and both the countries are continuously working on this technology.
GPU plays a very important role in developing AI and the Modi government is also preparing a strategy for this. Today we are going to give you information related to this which will help you a lot in understanding how the Indian government is preparing a strategy for this.
Verdict on GPU-
Only India-Incorporated companies will be allowed by the Government of India to participate in the GPU tender process. This means that any foreign company that has no dealings with an Indian company cannot participate in this bid. If this happens, then it can be said that only Indian companies will be allowed to provide India Artificial Intelligence (IndiaAI) services.
How many GPUs will be bid for?
ET has received documents related to this and the report claims that the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology can place a bid for 1 thousand GPUs or AI compute capacity. Whoever gets this bid will provide the service for 3 years. After this, a decision will be taken by the government and the company can get an agreement to provide the service in the future as well.
The report had come out earlier also-
ET had earlier also presented a report. It claimed that the Government of India will allow only Indian companies to run and manage GPU operations. The India AI Mission is worth Rs 10,372 crore which is very important for every company. But on the other hand, the government will also leave no stone unturned in this and efforts will be made to provide it well.
This was revealed in the document-
A look at the documents reveals that the government wants a 3-member form from the bidders, in which one will work as a data center provider, one as a cloud service provider and one as a system integrator. Among the three companies, one will work as a primary service provider, while the other two will work as secondary partners. That is, overall the government is trying to create a center that works completely on the backend as well.
All three members will have to fulfill the condition-
All three members will have to fulfill the criteria. In this, they will have to prove themselves to be legal entities in India. Cloud service will be provided by the winner. A new data center will also be set up for this in India and they will have to make the entire center theirs in India. Talking about the cloud platform, companies should also have operational AI service. Also, 1 thousand AI Compute units should already be there. Because they will have to be started within 6 months.
