Tlaxcala, Tlax, May 9, 2023 (Editorial). – Governor Lorena Cuéllar Cisneros inaugurated the rehabilitation of the General de División “José Amarillas” elementary school, located in San Pablo Apetatitlán, where an investment of 14 million 277 thousand 182.04 pesos was made.
He announced that for 33 years no remodeling work had been carried out, therefore, it presented various needs, which were corrected in two stages.
Cuéllar Cisneros recalled that part of his commitment to education is the rehabilitation of educational institutions and for this reason, so far in his administration, different works have been carried out in a thousand schools, although they will all benefit.
“We are missing a few, but my commitment as governor is that all the schools are at 100 percent, that they look very nice, that they are rehabilitated, because there you go, there go the children of Tlaxcala.”
The state president reiterated her commitment to education and children in Tlaxcala, while announcing that 150 preschool classrooms will be built for minors to attend the first year of this educational level.
During his speech, the head of the State Secretary of Public Education (SEPE), Homero Meneses Hernández highlighted that for this year in the general work program 141 million 247 thousand pesos of federal and state resources will be invested to reduce the needs of the schools.
He added that “the governor gave me instructions to make savings and the program was created: “The school is for the Tlaxcalans” and there we are going to support another 490 schools with 33 million pesos.”
On his occasion, the head of the Tlaxcalteca Institute of Educational Physical Infrastructure (Itife), Miguel Piedras Díaz explained that 12 million 277 thousand 182.04 pesos were invested in a first stage and 2 million pesos in the second stage.
He explained that the work consisted of the general rehabilitation of the different buildings, as well as the drainage, painting on the facade, replacement of the floor in the access esplanade and rehabilitation of the electrical installation, placement of floors and locks, among others.
Lastly, the director of the boarding school, Eloísa Méndez Ruiz, thanked the support received, as this will contribute to teaching and recognized the work of the head of the Executive that “by example she is demonstrating to children that education is the central part of the progress of the state supporting children”.
The event was also attended by the mayor Ángelo Gutiérrez Hernández, parents, and teachers, who accompanied the governor on a tour to verify the work carried out.
