Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi arrived in Kanyakumari today with his family on a two-day visit. Arriving at Thoothukudi by air from Chennai, he arrived at the Kanyakumari Government Guest House at 12.30 pm. He was received at the Government Guest House by District Collector Arvind, Superintendent of Police Badri Narayanan and the District Judge.
After a short rest, the Governor and his family boarded a boat to the statue of Thiruvalluvar in the middle of the sea and sprinkled flowers at the feet of the statue of Thiruvalluvar. He then proceeded to the Vivekananda Memorial Hall, where he spent some time enjoying the beauty of the sea and the setting sun.
He then returned to shore by boat at 7 p.m. Sami will perform darshan at Kanyakumari Bhagwati Amman Temple, Tirupati Balaji Temple and Suchindram Thanumalayan Temple in Kanyakumari tomorrow morning. He will continue to Vivekananda Kendra and leave for Chennai in the afternoon. Heavy police security has been put in place in Kanyakumari following the governor’s visit.
