The interim government has announced strict legal action, condemning any hate speech and attacks against religious and cultural institutions and Sufi shrines.

This was informed in a press release of the Press Wing of the Chief Adviser on Saturday (September 14).

According to the press release, a group of miscreants have been attacking Sufi shrines in the country for several days, which has come to the attention of the government. The Interim Government strongly condemns any hate speech and attacks on religious and cultural places and Sufi shrines.

The government is working to bring those involved in these attacks to book and take strict legal action against them, the press release said, adding that law enforcement agencies have been directed to take adequate measures to protect religious places and cultural sites.

Bangladesh has been a country of communal harmony and peaceful coexistence of all faiths for thousands of years, he added, adding that we say in no uncertain terms that we will remain a country of harmony and any attempt to disrupt religious or cultural tolerance and harmony will be dealt with sternly without any discrimination.
