Madurai: Ambulances blaring ‘siren’ and flanking all the vehicles, the vehicles are occupying the road to the extent that they are crawling like a ‘turtle’ on the Madurai Government Hospital road.
Cars are lined up from Madurai Government Hospital Auditorium to Children’s Ward and there is no way to walk. A car is parked against the restaurant in the complex with a new barricade. Visitors here park two-wheelers in a row around the car.
10 cars are parked near the entrance of the auditorium, the laundry next to it, and the ramp area. The width of the lane has narrowed by ten feet as the two-wheelers park inside the lane. When pedestrians walk, vehicles must follow behind them.
Ambulances carrying patients also crawl here. There is no space to walk and people park their cars as per their convenience and the hospital is congested in all the curves. The hospital administration should take steps to remove the road encroachment without mercy.
