- Chema good news for government employees
- Super information released!
In the South Asian country of Afghanistan, the Taliban seized control and power last August, almost 20 years after the withdrawal of US troops. An interim government has been formed under the leadership of Mullah Akund, a senior leader of the Taliban.
Following the Taliban’s seizure of power in Afghanistan, the world community and the World Bank cut off financial aid to the country. Thus there seems to be a financial crisis. Since last September, the Taliban have reportedly not paid salaries to government employees. Meanwhile, a number of teachers staged a protest in the capital, Kabul, demanding immediate payment of arrears that had not been paid for about four months.
Taliban spokesman Sabiqullah Mujahid has said that the Afghan Ministry of Finance has announced that government employees will be paid three months’ salary from today (Saturday). Government employees, including government teachers, are pleased with the Taliban’s announcement.
