Goyang Special City (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) Goyang City Community Security Council (Public Chairman Lee Dong-hwan, Private Chairman Lee Man-soo) conducted the ‘2024 Goyang Special City Citizen Governance University Capacity Building Training’ for Goyang citizens in the small conference room on the 2nd floor of Deogyang-gu Office on the 30th.
Goyang Special Citizen Governance University is based on public-private cooperation (governance) and aims to have Goyang citizens take interest in community security plans and solve local issues. Furthermore, it is a capacity-building education program aimed at establishing policy directions and developing the ability to propose policies.
About 50 Goyang Special City citizens, including social welfare workers, members of the local community social security council, and civil servants, participated in this training.
The training was led by Shin Jun-young, CEO of CareU, a smart care specialist company, and was conducted under the theme of ‘Changes in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Smart Welfare Environment.’ On this day, the training was conducted as an experiential training where cases of utilizing digital technology services to solve regional problems in a super-aging society were shared and smart devices were directly experienced.
Goyang Special City Mayor Lee Dong-hwan said, “The social service sector, which used to be centered on face-to-face services, is changing into a digital welfare environment, so we have prepared this training where you can experience smart information and communication technology firsthand,” adding, “In the future, we will strive to ensure that the information-vulnerable class in welfare blind spots can more easily access integrated welfare services through smart technology training.”
A Goyang citizen who attended the training said, “This training provided an opportunity to think about welfare issues within the local community.” He added, “It was a time to take a step closer to a smart welfare environment through training on cases utilizing digital technology and experiencing smart devices.”
Meanwhile, the Goyang City Community Security Council plans to conduct training on the topic of ‘ChatGPT and Social Welfare’ on September 10, followed by capacity building training on ‘Changes in Childcare Environment in the Future Era’ on September 23, and ‘Enactment of the Regional Care Integrated Support Act’ on October 14.
