Goyang City, Comprehensive Measures for Citizen Safety and Convenience During Chuseok Holidays

Public health centers operate on Chuseok day, hospitals maintain 24-hour emergency treatment system

The city is expanding emergency medical services to minimize the gap in medical services during the Chuseok holiday period. 113 hospitals and clinics and 377 pharmacies will be open during this holiday. On Chuseok, all three public health centers in Deogyang-gu, Ilsandong-gu, and Ilsanseo-gu will operate medical clinics.

In particular, in order to respond quickly to emergency patients or multiple patients, emergency medical institutions in the region, such as Myongji Hospital, The Jain Hospital, Wondang Yonsei Hospital, Ilsan Hospital, National Cancer Center, Dongguk University Hospital, Grace Hospital, Heo Yu-jae Hospital, Ilsan Bokum Hospital, Ilsan Cha Hospital, and Ilsan Baek Hospital, operate a 24-hour emergency treatment system.

You can quickly receive information on whether medical institutions and pharmacies are open during the Chuseok holiday and whether ambulances are dispatched through the Goyang City website and public health center (Deogyang-gu ☎031-8075-4012, Ilsandong-gu ☎031-8075-4087, Ilsanseo-gu ☎031-8075-4161), Goyang City Civil Complaints Call Center (☎031-909-9000), 119 Emergency Situation Management Center, and 129 Health and Welfare Call Center.

Free use of public parking lots in the area, no collection of household waste on the 15th and 17th-18th

The city will operate a comprehensive traffic situation room to resolve traffic inconveniences during the Chuseok holidays. Model drivers will be concentrated in four areas with congested traffic, including intersections and traditional markets, to manage traffic. In addition, real-time traffic information will be provided through 58 road electronic signboards and 1,178 bus information guides.

In addition, for the convenience of parking for visitors, 196 public parking lots in the area will be open for free from the 14th to the 18th, and information can be found on Naver Map and Kakao Map. From the 28th of last month to September 29th, parking around traditional markets will be temporarily permitted to improve convenience for traditional market users and revitalize the local economy.

The city and each district office will provide quick cleaning administrative services by organizing cleaning situation teams and mobile teams. They will prevent complaints through preemptive concentrated collection of illegal waste, and strengthen special patrols and crackdowns on areas with concerns of illegal dumping of waste and major river wastewater discharge facilities.

During the Chuseok holiday, the 15th and 17th-18th will not be used for household waste collection due to the cleaning company’s holidays. Instead, the 14th and 16th will be designated as intensive collection days, and the plan is to minimize inconvenience to citizens related to the disposal of various types of waste.

Establishing a disaster prevention and response system and promoting a price stabilization campaign

The city will organize response teams by department to prepare for emergencies and operate a disaster situation room 24 hours a day during the Chuseok holidays. It will monitor disaster and safety situations and establish a network of contacts with relevant organizations to quickly respond to emergencies.

We support emergency facility repairs and emergency water supply in case of water leaks or meter damage. We also plan to quickly handle urgent complaints such as sewer backflow or damage through the ’24-hour sewer emergency dispatch’.

In addition, we will operate an African swine fever livestock disease situation room to prevent the spread of African swine fever, which has recently occurred in other regions, to Goyang City. We will mobilize specialized quarantine and disinfection vehicles to disinfect the entrances and exits of livestock farms, and we plan to operate a livestock vehicle disinfection support facility within the agricultural technology center.

Meanwhile, the Chuseok holiday price stabilization countermeasure team will operate a price stabilization campaign, and the burden on households will be eased by monitoring price trends and focusing on managing popular products. The plan is to encourage the use of traditional markets, such as by promoting the use of Onnuri gift certificates, and to revitalize nearby commercial districts.

Goyang Special City Mayor Lee Dong-hwan said, “We will thoroughly implement customized measures for each sector to ensure the convenience and safety of citizens,” and “We will do our best to ensure that all citizens can have a comfortable and enjoyable Chuseok holiday.”
