Goyang Special City will conduct civil defense training in the first half of 2024. Goyang Special City (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 11th that it will conduct ‘civil defense training in the first half of 2024’ for civil defense members belonging to Goyang City to strengthen civil defense preparedness.
The first half of the group training runs from April 15 to July 3 (3 times a week, Monday to Wednesday), and is for members in their first to second year of civil defense formation. You can visit the Goyang City Civil Defense Training Center (214 Hwasin-ro, Deokyang-gu, Goyang-si) on the designated training date once a year and complete 4 hours of training on the civil defense system, fire evacuation, first aid, and nuclear, chemical, biological and radiological protection.
In addition, cyber civil defense training for civil defense members with more than 3 years of experience will run from April 15 to June 30. Civil defense personnel with 3 to 4 years of experience must receive 2 hours of cyber training, and civil defense personnel with 5 or more years of experience must receive 1 hour of cyber training on the civil defense system, first aid, nuclear, chemical, biological, and radiological protection.
To receive cyber training, you can access the Civil Defense cyber training site using a PC or mobile phone, authenticate yourself, and then take the training. If you receive 70 points or more in the multiple-choice evaluation, you will be recognized as having completed the training.
For reference, members who have difficulty completing cyber training can also complete civil defense training through written training through the Administrative Welfare Center.
A city official emphasized, “Participants in group training must bring an ID card and a cell phone in their name.” He continued, “If a person subject to training does not participate in training, a fine of 100,000 won will be imposed in accordance with relevant laws and regulations after the end of training for the year,” and urged them to actively participate in training.
Meanwhile, training notices are sent to all members of Goyang City through electronic notification methods such as Naver App, Kakao Pay, and text message.
Civil Defense members are men aged 20 (born in 2004) to 40 (born in 1984), excluding those eligible for active duty and reserve forces.
