Goyang Special City Mayor Lee Dong-hwan signed a joint cooperation business agreement (MOU) with design creative group W0W in Tokyo, Japan on the 28th.

Goyang City and Wow Co., Ltd. agreed to cooperate to develop the content industry in both Korea and Japan, revitalize Goyang Ilsan Techno Valley and the high-tech industrial complex, share information related to the content industry such as games, and promote cultural and corporate exchanges between the two countries.

Wow Co., Ltd. is a design creative group established in 1997, with over 50 design experts working in the field. They create unique experiences through the combination of visual art and technology, and are known as a leader in creative design in digital art, motion graphics, and interactive media.

Wow Inc. is a global media group that collaborates with global companies such as Amazon, Apple, and Google, and has been recognized for its unique artistry by holding exhibitions at Tate Modern, Venice Biennale, and Pompidou Center. It presents creative designs utilizing new media technologies such as advertising, experiential installations, prototyping, UI, and product design.

The market said, “Ilsan Techno Valley plans to develop cutting-edge technology industries such as bio-medical, media, and content, which are core industries of the 4th industrial revolution, and plans to begin full-scale land supply and sales by the end of this year, with a target completion date of 2026 at a scale of approximately 260,000 pyeong (871,761 m2).”

Hiroshi Takahashi, CEO of Wow Co., Ltd., said, “We plan to actively pursue exchanges with Goyang Special City to revitalize the media content industry,” and “I plan to visit Korea around October and would like to continue follow-up discussions with Goyang City.”
