The 64th Grammy Awards may be postponed this year due to the spread of the omicron coronavirus strain in the United States, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing a source familiar with the situation. The ceremony was supposed to take place on January 31st.

Last year, the ceremony was postponed due to the spread of the coronavirus: it took place on March 14 instead of January 31. The venue also changed: instead of the Staples Center, the awards were presented at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

On November 24, the US National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences announced the nominees for the Grammy Awards. Jazz musician John Baptiste has the most nominations – 11. Justin Bieber, Doja Cat and HER each have eight awards each, Billie Eilish and Olivia Rodrigo are represented in seven nominations. Rapper Jay-Z has been nominated in three categories.

The 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama, also received one nomination for the award. His memoir A Promised Land is featured in the Best Spoken Album category.
