Dane Weber, the granddaughter of the late Colonel William Weber and the only surviving family member, sent a handwritten letter of thanks to SK Group Chairman Choi Tae-won.

According to the financial world on the 29th, Dane Weber visited Korea to attend the 6.25 War UN Forces Participation Day commemoration event hosted by the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs and the special exhibition of Colonel William Weber’s relics co-hosted by the Korea-US Alliance Foundation and the UN Memorial Hall.

Upon his arrival, Dane Weber delivered a three-page handwritten letter to SK Group and Chairman Choi Tae-won through the Korea-US Alliance Foundation.

He sent a handwritten letter expressing special gratitude to Chairman Choi, who has been actively participating in projects to commemorate Colonel Weber, such as the establishment of the Colonel William Weber Memorial at the Paju Veterans Complex and support for the Colonel William Weber Korea-US Alliance Essay Contest.

Dane Weber wrote, “I am sure that my grandfather, Colonel Weber, and my grandmother, Mrs. Annalee, in heaven will be grateful for the kindness shown by Chairman Choi and the SK Group. I am deeply moved beyond words and would like to express my heartfelt gratitude.”

In particular, he wrote, “My grandfather would be grateful that SK Group is practicing the legacy that Colonel Weber tried to protect while he was alive: ‘Freedom is not given for free. We must continue to make efforts to protect freedom and inform future generations of the meaning of the Korean War.’”

He also said, “Chairman Choi’s dedication to upholding Colonel Weber’s legacy means a lot to me and to everyone who cherishes the values ​​of Colonel Weber.”

Colonel Weber is a veteran of the Korean War and a symbol of the ROK-US alliance. Chairman Choi attended the completion ceremony of the Colonel William Weber Memorial at the Paju Veterans Complex in October last year and conveyed his gratitude for Colonel Weber’s devotion to his granddaughter Dane Weber.

Previously, Chairman Choi was the first Korean company to donate $1 million (KRW 1.3 billion) to the U.S. ‘Wall of Remembrance’ project, which Colonel Weber had been promoting throughout his life. In July 2022, Chairman Choi personally traveled to the U.S. to attend the construction ceremony.
