Emergency services rescued an elderly man after he fell into a sewage canal in the Santa Catarina colony of the Coyoacan City Hall.
Officers from the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) were patrolling the area when they received an alert about an elderly person who had fallen into a river on the street Vine.
“Upon arriving at the scene, the officers noticed a person at the bottom of the sewage canal, who was unable to move and was shouting for help. They requested support from emergency services,” the agency reported.

Paramedics from the Rescue and Medical Emergency Squad (ERUM), along with personnel from the Heroic Fire and Civil Protection Corps (PC), responded to the scene.
Using ropes, the rescuers reached the elderly man and brought him to the edge of the canal. Once outside, the paramedics diagnosed the 63-year-old man with various injuries but did not require hospitalization.

Following their medical assessment, the officers remained on site until the arrival of the man’s relatives, who left the scene with him.
