Cuban activist Idelisa Diasniurka Salcedo Verdecía reported on Facebook that the grandmother of Cristofer, the Cuban orphan boy from Granma, has already obtained legal custody of him.
“Finally!!! Now the grandmother has legal custody of the child Cristofer, we continue for more, because WHERE THERE’S A WILL THERE’S A WAY!!! Thank you, my God!! He is the child who drank caustic soda because his mother abandoned him, and we bought him his little house with everything inside!! After several months of fighting for this, we have just achieved it, yes it is possible. My God, thank you,” wrote the activist.
It is worth noting that, although this little boy’s life has changed positively in recent months, his health condition is not optimal, and he still needs an esophageal transplant surgery, which is why he continues to need the help of the Cuban community.

The people who remain close to the little boy continue to fight to obtain a humanitarian visa that will allow him to undergo surgery away from the “medical power.”
As you may recall, the child was abandoned by his mother and his father decided to take his own life, thus leaving him in the hands of a grandmother who, unfortunately, cannot perform her job properly to provide him with what he needs.
In September 2023, Cristofer was given a home made possible by donations from the community.
The minor, after remaining in precarious conditions for a long time, entered the building and saw that there was food, medicine, clothing and even toys around him.
