Children are often closer and more fond of their grandparents and grandparents than their parents. The food made by the grandmother and the stories told by the grandfather are very dear to the children. Institutions in the UK are now realizing their emotional connection with their grandchildren. Companies have also begun offering holidays to senior citizens over the age of 50 to celebrate the birth of grandchildren.

The concept was first implemented by Saga, a UK-based company that provides products and services for senior citizens. Saga’s new decision is to give one week’s paid leave when grandchildren are born to their past 50 employees.

Saga currently employs more than 2,500 people over the age of 50. The presence of grandparents at the birth of grandchildren may require their help and guidance. Jane Storm, Saga’s Chief People’s Officer, says they are reminding the community that senior citizens are not to be neglected or forgotten and that they are much needed by family and community.
