Granola cookies recalled suspected of containing metal particles

by time news

The recall concerns the whole of France and most retail chains (Carrefour, Leclerc, Système U, Auchan, etc.).

If recalls of food products are frequent, there is one, published Friday on the site “Rappel Conso”, which particularly attracts the eye. Indeed, it concerns emblematic biscuits, particularly appreciated by young and old alike: Granola. The Mondelez International group, which produces these LU brand biscuits, has issued a recall notice throughout France, concerning two references: milk chocolate Granola in batches of two (2x200g) and dark chocolate Granola (195g).

The American agribusiness giant made this decision, he explains, “due to the potential presence of a limited number of fine metallic particles in some of its Granola products and after an in-depth risk analysis, as a precautionary measure“. The recall is thus voluntary, without a prefectural decree.

It concerns the whole of France, and most distributors: Carrefour, Leclerc, Système U, Auchan, Simply Market, Casino, Intermarché, Monoprix or Franprix.

Several batches affected

For Milk Chocolate Granola, batch numbers OCE0123911, OCE0123912, OCE0123913, OCE0123921, OCE0123922, OCE0123923 and OCE0123931 are affected by this recall. For the Dark Chocolate Granola, these are lots OCE0123872, OCE0123873 and OCE0123911. All these batches have been marketed since October 3rd. “The other batches of Dark Chocolate Granola and Milk Chocolate Granola can be consumed normally“, indicates the Mondelez International group.

To people who would have bought the lots concerned, the American multinational asks “not to consume them and to bring the product back to the point of sale or to contact our consumer service at 09.69.39.79.79 Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. except public holidays“. And this, “due to the risk of injury/adverse effects from ingesting this product“. Consumers will then be reimbursed.
