The great victory 2:6 over Iran caused celebrations and big headlines in England, but on the sidelines there is also an exciting story for which Jack Grealish was responsible. The Manchester City player scored England’s sixth goal towards the end and after the congratulations and hugs with his friends, he celebrated with a kind of dance movement. Later came the explanation.
It turns out that a few days before the England team flew to Qatar, Grealish met with an 11-year-old boy, a Manchester City fan who has cerebral palsy. Grealish’s sister is dealing with cerebral palsy herself and when the Manchester City star received a letter from the boy, named Finley, he was moved and decided to meet him.

Grealish shared with his followers the meeting with Finley and when he asked him: “If I win the World Cup – how would you like me to celebrate”, the boy replied: “The celebration of the worm”. Grealish said he didn’t know how to celebrate like that and the two agreed on a kind of shaking-dance with their hands.
Today, towards the end of the game, Grealish received a pass from Callum Wilson and in front of the Rick Gilgal goal he scored the 1:6 of the Three Lions team. If anyone thought that in the heat of the moment, on the big stage, the 27-year-old midfielder would forget Finley – they were wrong. “Grealish has not forgotten” they noted in the English media and the star celebrated and was moved.
