Great batting by Finn Allen.. New Zealand beat West Indies in 2nd ODI

The New Zealand team is on a tour of the West Indies. New Zealand won the T20 series 2-1, followed by the ODI series.

West Indies won the first match of the 3 ODI series, while the 2nd ODI was played in Jamaica. West Indies won the toss and chose to field.

Batting first, the New Zealand team lost successive wickets at regular intervals from the start, and Finn Allen, who played steady at one end, scored a half-century. Guptill (3), Conway (6) and Latham (0) lost, but Daryl Mitchell, who partnered with Finn Allen for the 4th wicket, batted responsibly and scored 41 runs.

Finn Allen, who batted prodigiously, scored 96 runs, but fell short of his century by 4 runs and was run out by Holder. The New Zealand team scored 212 runs in the 49th over with Santner scoring 26 runs and Trent Boult scoring 16 runs in the back row.

Rain reduced the 2nd innings to 41 overs and West Indies were set a target of 212 by TLS. Chasing a target of 212 runs in 41 overs, the West Indies lost 8 wickets for 72 runs.

Talented Yannick Karia and Alzari Joseph both batted brilliantly. Yannick scored a half-century and was dismissed for 52 runs. Alzari Joseph was dismissed for 49 runs and missed his half-century by one run. Had the batsmen batted better like these 2 talents, this match could have been won.

But West Indies lost by 50 runs after being bowled out for 161 runs in 35.3 overs. With this win, New Zealand have leveled the ODI series at 1-1. The team that wins the last ODI will win the series.
