Two hours of show where all the students and the teacher Silvia Dalla Benetta offered singing performances of the highest level.
MONTI | September 3, 2024. For one evening Monti was the most important center of opera singing in Sardinia. A record certified last August 30th by the great success of the final concert of the Masterclass (high level training course for opera singers), organized by the Monti association “Sardegna Lirica”, led by the baritone Gabriele Barriawith the teacher Silvia From Benettainternationally renowned soprano.
The performance of the young Sardinian opera singers (Maria Grazia Piccardi, Claudio Deledda, Rita Cugusi, Veronica Abozzi, Graziano Massaiu, Roberto Dettori, Rosa Maria Cuboni e Gabriele Barria) and the same teacher, all accompanied on the piano by the maestro Giancarlo Salarisaroused strong emotions and pleasant sensations among the audience during the approximately two-hour show, fascinated by the magnificent voices and the outstanding interpretative skills, so much so that the evening was defined as memorable!
The concert, which took place in the packed parish church, flowed along with great participation from the spectators, who supported the performances by giving thunderous applause. Two famous songs, the duet from “Brindisi“ from La Traviata, and “O sole mio”, received a real ovation, with the audience standing and singing along with the protagonists, for an overwhelming finale.
The Masterclass, organized in a small community – unusual -, born under the best auspices and viaticum for further experiments, can be said without any doubt that it too was a perfect success, especially for the presence of Silvia Dalla Benetta. The teacher, in fact, with an international curriculum, directed by the most prestigious orchestra conductors and appreciated by famous directors, winner of the “Abbiati” award (the most important recognition awarded in Italy and conferred by the association of music critics) has given great prestige to the whole initiative. Just as it is right to underline the proactive association of Monti, born just eighteen months ago, which with the organization of this special course takes another giant step in the world of opera, confirming at the same time the leadership of the young Monti baritone Gabriele Barria, already a protagonist on the national scene.
