Greek Defense Minister Nikos Dendias announced the creation of an “anti-drone dome” in an interview with Naftemporiki, Day.Az reports with reference to Gazeta.ru.
“We will quickly work to overcome this gap from neighboring countries, as well as create a “dome” against drones covering the territory of Greece,” the minister said, commenting on his recent visit to Greece and the country’s experience of countering the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, which massively used Turkish drones Bayraktar.
According to Dendias, the ministry plans to carry out army reform called Agenda 2030. Within its framework, the country plans to expand the production of weapons, change the length of service in the army and create a special innovation ecosystem in the army.
The minister called the first step in creating this ecosystem the allocation of part of the armed forces budget exclusively for the production of Greek defense products. To facilitate the creation of this ecosystem, a “Greek Center for Innovation Development” will be created.
