Green BTPs, issued 8.5 billion euros but demand exceeds 80: here’s what to know

the first green government bond in the history of the Italian Republic was issued. The Treasury closed the placement of the first Green BTP for 8.5 billion euros. The bond, maturing in April 2045, has raised demand in excess of 80 billion euros. The yield was set at 12 basis points above the BTP maturing in March 2041, and should therefore be around 1.5%. The bond was placed by a pool of banks consisting of Bnp Paribas, Jp Morgan, NatWest Markets, Credit Agricole and Intesa Sanpaolo. Mef.
