The wave of cancellations in Russia following the fighting continues: The Green Day band has canceled its upcoming show in Moscow following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the band’s representatives announced on social media.

The trio was scheduled to perform on May 29 in Moscow ahead of the European tour ahead of the summer. However, the band announced on Instagram: “With a heavy heart, in light of current events we feel the need to cancel our upcoming show at Moscow Spartak Stadium.”

“We are aware that the events now are not related to rock shows in stadiums, they are much bigger than that,” the band members continued. “But we also know that rock ‘n’ roll is forever and we feel confident we will have time and space to return to it in the future. Refunds are available at the point of purchase. Take care of yourself.” The show has already been removed from the Green Day tour track on their website.

As a reminder, Warner Bros. Studios has announced that it is halting the release of “Batman” in Russia, just days before its release in theaters there, as part of a distributor’s policy of stopping screenings of new films in the country following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

The Warner Brothers, Walt Disney Company and Sony Pictures reported that they would “delay” the release of their films in Russia. Each studio has new films that were supposed to be released around the world for the first time in the coming weeks. “Batman”, one of the films that has been highly anticipated over the past year, was expected to be released this weekend in the US and other markets including Russia.
