A positive development took place for the former professional footballers of Aris, PAS Ioannina who claim their dues.

The way is open for the former football players of Aris and PAS Ioannina to receive their earnings, as, as PSAPP informed, the State recognized the right of their request. These footballers had contracts with the old PAE which were liquidated and do not exist today. However, the State had promised to compensate the footballers, which it apparently will do now, even after all these years.
The announcement in detail: “After many and persistent efforts, PSAPP is pleased to inform its members of a very positive development, in the thorny problem concerning the former professional football players of PAE ARIS THESSALONIKI and PAE PAS GIANNINA and due to them money since 2009.

The State recognized the fair request of the above football players and proved its will to solve this chronic problem. It would be remiss not to emphasize the undivided interest of the Deputy Minister of Sports, Mr. Ioannis Vroutsis, his constant presence and assistance and ultimately the catalytic intervention of himself and the Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance, Mr. Thanos Petralias, in order to coordinate the actions required and to plan the necessary procedures for the payment of monies still owed.

The PSAPP, loyal to its struggles to eliminate the phenomenon of “unpaid footballers”, did, knowing the difficulties, the self-evident for these footballers and claimed the resolution of a just request, with a sense of seriousness and responsibility, with unity, sympathy and loyal adherence to the goal.

The meeting of 23.2.2024, between Messrs. I. Vroutsis and Th. Petralia and the Association, which was represented by Mr. George Bandis, President, Tassos Bakaseta, Special Adviser and Antonis Nicopolidis and Angelos Charistea, former international footballers, was the decisive step for the final solution of the problem.

PSAPP, thanking the State and especially Mr. I. Vroutsis, Th. Petralia and G. Mavrotas, General Secretary of Sports, for their sincere interest, response and catalytic intervention, will continue to provide all necessary assistance in all the steps that will follow until the final payment of the money to former professional football players of PAE ARIS and PAS GIANNINA”.
