Green Party Leader Ricarda Lang Ties the Knot with Florian Wilsch in Intimate Berlin Ceremony

Berlin – Green Party leader Ricarda Lang has married her partner Florian Wilsch. The couple said “I do” on Saturday in Berlin, as reported by “Bild.” This was also confirmed by dpa information. Lang (30) had publicly announced her engagement to Wilsch in March 2023.

According to the “Bild” newspaper, the Green Party leader and the mathematician and former spokesperson for the Green Youth Bavaria celebrated “surrounded by friends, family, and colleagues.” The couple married in a location near the Spree River, which can accommodate up to 150 guests.

“It won’t be a public spectacle, and we will not get married on Sylt,” Lang said in 2023 to “Gala,” referring to the wedding of Federal Finance Minister Christian Lindner (FDP).

Lang: I can imagine starting a family

She could also well imagine starting a family, Lang said a few months ago to the “Neuen Osnabrücker Zeitung” (NOZ). “And the thought is indeed a driving force for me. Maybe one day having children myself comes with the responsibility to say: I want to contribute to a world where my children can grow up well.”

The two have been a couple for some time and maintained a long-distance relationship. In 2023, Lang told the magazine “Bunte” that she often travels by train to see him in Hanover. “If I don’t have a seat, I sometimes sit on the floor in the aisle. But these travel strains are worth it to me.”

Despite important political appointments, one should not forget their private happiness, Lang said at the time. “That is the foundation.” When asked if a wedding isn’t outdated nowadays, she replied: “I don’t think so. A wedding is for me a sign that we want to stay together and faithful to each other. That we will someday start a family. I am happy to be traditional with that.”
