/ The Al-Shorta Sports Club administration announced today, Monday, that it had won the objection to the decision of the Iraqi Football Association to consider its football team a loser against Zakho, stressing that the three points of the match were returned to the team’s balance.

The club’s media director, Hussein Al-Khorasani, said in an interview with Agency, “After distinguished professional payments by our management, our points were returned to us and the result remained the same, with the police team defeating Zakho by two clean goals.”

He pointed out that “the federation was convinced after the club’s arguments, and the three points were kept for us without giving them to the opponent.”

The Disciplinary Committee of the Iraqi Football Association considered Al-Shorta Club as having lost to Zakho 0-3 after having won against it in its match that took place on the eighth of last December at Al-Najaf Stadium.

The federal penalty was imposed on the police for violating the federation’s regulations for the Iraqi Premier League by fielding more professional players than required, and was fined 15 million dinars, and the team supervisor was suspended for two months.

Al-Shorta is ranked second in the Iraqi Premier League after the end of the 12th round with 28 points.
