Prime Minister Narendra Modi has greeted the people of the country in Tamil on the occasion of Pongal, the Tamil festival.
Today, the first day of Thai month, Pongal festival is being celebrated all over Tamilnadu with vibrancy and smell of earth as a festival of thanksgiving to the sun which is the source of all life, nature and ploughing.

In this context, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a congratulatory message on Twitter, has congratulated the people of the country in Tamil on the occasion of Pongal. “Happy Pongal to all of you, especially the Tamil people of the world. May this festival bring joy and wonderful health to our community. I pray to further strengthen the bond of unity,” he said.
