Grigor Dimitrov is almost ending one of the best seasons of his career. In addition to a place at least in the top 20 of the world ranking, he will end the year with a decent financial bonus.
The top 30 players from the Masters 1000 and the ATP Finals in Turin next month will receive a total of $4.3 million in prize money. The smallest amount provided is $200,000.
After the end of the tournament in Shanghai, where he was eliminated in the round of 16, Dimitrov took tenth place in the provisional ranking. His total points are 1170 (100 from Indian Wells, 650 for the final in Miami, 100 from Monte Carlo, 10 from Madrid, 100 from Rome, the same amount from Montreal, 10 from Cincinnati and also 100 from China).
Grigor still has some chances to reach the finals. In the ranking with only points from the beginning of the year, he is 10th – 645 points behind Andrei Rublev (Russia), who occupies the last eighth position, giving the right to participate in the “Inalpi Arena” hall.
In the all-time standings by prize money alone, our star crossed the $28 million mark and with 28,053,522 (2,901,300 for this season alone) is 17th. Leading the way is Grand Slam title holder Novak Djokovic (Sir), who has $185,065,269.
Australian Open and US Open champion Yannick Siner (It) is currently first in the standings for bonus money. The world leader has 3,800 points. However, the South Tyrolean missed the home “Masters 1000” in Rome and this reduces his potential profit by 25%. However, he can take home $200,000 for this tournament as well, since he was on-site and participated in promotional events for the organizers.
The rest before Grigor Dimitrov in the ranking are Alexander Zverev (2500 points), Rublev (1280), Danil Medvedev (1670), Carlos Alcaraz (1610), Stefanos Tsitsipas (1480), Alexey Popirin (1230, but with one missed tournament), Taylor Fritz and Casper Ruud with 1,180 each.
There is only one “Masters 1000” left in the calendar – in Paris.
