Grillstar.de Files for Bankruptcy
August 8, 2024
Grillstar.de, a prominent online grill shop in Germany, has filed for bankruptcy, as reported by the North Rhine-Westphalian local newspaper “Die Glocke” and other sources.
The company, known for offering a wide range of grill accessories and equipment, described itself as one of the leading grill shops in Germany. Their online shop and physical store in Gütersloh boasted a selection of over 1,000 square meters of grill products.
Grillstar.de also offered grill seminars through their “Grill Academy,” established in 2018. However, the company’s troubles seem to have impacted 19 employees who are now facing job insecurity.
The bankruptcy filing comes at a time when corporate insolvencies in Germany are on the rise. According to the Halle Institute for Economic Research (IWH), the number of corporate bankruptcies increased by a third in July, reaching the highest level in ten years. The affected companies lost approximately 10,000 jobs in the top 10 percent of filings.
