The event is held every year and features Punxsutawney Phil, the little animal who lives in Young Township. The members of the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club – an association that has its roots in the late 19th century – take care of the groundhog and during the event reveal whether the rodent can see its shadow: if so then it means that there will be another six weeks of winter.
